EVENT DELIVERY

EVENTS THAT DON'T COST THE EARTH

At the Inspiring Leadership Conference, we’re committed to making a positive impact — not just in leadership, but also in how we deliver our event. We believe great leadership includes environmental and social responsibility, which is why sustainability is embedded into every part of our planning and delivery and we partner with ECOsmart certified and Birmingham based event management company, Blackberry Events.

We’re proud to be taking thoughtful, measurable steps to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the quality experience our delegates expect.

Sustainable Venue

The ICC Birmingham have invested significantly into sustainability at their events venue, including initiatives involving waste management, energy, catering and they event have their own wildlife areas on the roof of the building and around it.

Local suppliers

We are proud to partner with PSP AV who have achieved the ESSA Sustainability Certification, and Lion Exhibitions - both of which are local suppliers to Birmingham.

Reduce single use

We’ve opted to re-use lanyards from previous events, provide sustainable reusable tote bags to minimise those provided by exhibitors and provide water stations to cut down on single-use materials and reduce waste.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

OUR SOCIAL IMPACT

Our responsibility doesn’t stop at the environment. Social impact is central to the Inspiring Leadership Conference ethos.

  • Charity Partner: Each year, we partner with a charity that reflects our values, helping to raise awareness and support for important causes. We will be raising funds for our 2026 partner during the conference and dinner and there will be chance to win some amazing prizes!

  • Education Sector Support: As a conference designed for and by educational leaders, we actively support initiatives that benefit the wider education sector.

HOW YOU CAN DO YOUR BIT WHEN ATTENDING

Venue access

The ICC Birmingham is easily accessible by many means of public transport – just 13 minutes walk from the train station and various bus services a two minute walk to Broad Street. We encourage attendees to consider greener travel options, including trains, trams, car share and buses, whenever possible. Book Train Tickets Here

Responsible Giveaways

In 2026 we are encouraging sponsors and exhibitors to reduce wasteful giveaways and to think more in favour of supporting a circular economy. This can be done by switching print to digital, eliminating plastic, specifically single use and giving items that can be re-used or are recyclable or made from recyclable materials.

Stand Design

When designing your stand there are a number of ways you can make it less harmful to the environment. Leave dates off your graphics and opt for graphics you can easily take down and transport home. If you plan to use banners, for the same cost as a typical roller banner you can get a PVC free eco roller banner that is also part of a recycling scheme where you get rewarded for trading in old banners.

Refill Bottles

Whether you are exhibiting or attending as a delegate we advise you bring a refillable water bottle which you are welcome to top up throughout the day at our many water stations around the venue. This will help eliminate single use plastic, cups or crockery being used and will limit energy usage when washing up.
