An additional two interviewees have been confirmed by Schools Week for the Meet the Leader Theatre being held at this year’s Inspiring Leadership Conference: Steve Chalke, CEO, Oasis Charitable Trust, and Liz Robinson, CEO of Big Education.

A former adviser to Tony Blair’s Labour government, Steve Chalke founded the Oasis Charitable Trust back in 1985 with a mission to build inclusive local communities. The Trust is now one of the biggest charities in the UK and includes various charitable organisations including Oasis Community Learning, Oasis Community Housing, and Oasis Community Partnerships. It provides housing, education, healthcare, various other community-building initiatives and is working with the Ministry of Justice to open the UK’s first Secure School.

Liz Robinson is the CEO of Big Education which aims to bring together the energy and spirit of our schools, teachers and communities to deliver a bigger and bolder vision of what education can be about. With expertise in education and leadership, Liz is also hosting the ‘Re-thinking leadership’ workshop at this year’s conference.

Hosted by Schools Week, the Meet the Leader Theatre will see Schools Week journalists conduct thought provoking interviews with influential education sector figures on a range of topical issues across the two days.
